Theatre Director

Peter has worked for a number of small and mid-scale theatre companies, both touring and venue based. He has also directed for several theatre-in-education companies, museums and galleries, youth theatre organisations and commercial projects. He trained at the University of East Anglia, where he gained a Masters in Theatre Direction (Distinction) and won the annual Minotaur Best Director Award.

Peter's work ranges from directing pieces by classical playrights such as Marivaux, Moliere and Shakespeare, to twentieth century playrights such as Jean Anouilh, Bertolt Brecht , Athol Fugard, Arthur Miller, Christopher Hampton, Dennis Potter and Steven Berkoff. He has also directed a number of musical productions, some of which include 'Anything Goes' by Cole Porter, 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' by Bob Carlton, 'Scrooge' by Leslie Bricusse and 'Little Shop of Horrors' by Howard Ashman and Alan Menkin.

Peter is also committed to working with new writing and devised work. He has worked with several playrights who's work has gone on to be presented at The Donmar Warehouse, Soho Theatre and on BBC Radio Four.

Peter has directed in a number of settings from traditional theatre spaces to theatre-in-the-round, site-specific, open-air theatre, actor-led gallery and museum tours, street theatre and schools.
